Oduduwa University Owner Arrested in Connection With Student's Death

Police authorities in Osun state have arrested Ramon Adedoyin, the founder of Oduduwa University and Ile-Ife Polytechnic, over the death of Timothy Adegoke, the master’s degree student of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU).

Adegoke was said to have travelled from Abuja to write an exam at the OAU distance learning centre in Moro, Osun on November 5. He was reported to have lodged at the Hilton Hotel Resort, Ile-Ife, of which Adedoyin is its chairman.

He was, however, declared missing two days later — only to be found dead.

While six suspects were earlier arrested in connection to Adegoke’s death, the police say the owner of the hotel is in its custody.

In a statement signed by Yemisi Opalola, the command’s spokesperson, on Wednesday, the police said the suspect has been detained.

The statement also added that Adedoyin is currently undergoing interrogation while they await the autopsy report from the hospital.
