Following it’s resounding victory in the just concluded governorship election in Ondo State, the All Progressives Congress APC has commenced an in house cleaning.
This is as the Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, (APC) expelled a member of the state House of Assembly, Mrs Favour Tomowewo, over alleged anti -party activities during the last Saturday ’s governorship election in the state.
Recall that Mrs Tomowewo was one of the nine members of the State House of Assembly who had in July opposed the impeachment notice served to the state deputy governor, Honorable Agboola Ajayi
Agboola Ajayi has fallen out with Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, and defected to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, which later
necessitated an impeachment notice to be brought against him.
Mrs Tomowewo, the lone female member of the House, alongside eight others noted that Hon. Agboola Ajayi’ had done nothing wrong to warrant the impeachment, adding that plot to Oust the Deputy Governor from office was politically motivated.
But in a letter dated October 12 , 2020 and signed by the Chairman and the Secretary of Mahin Ward 4, Ilaje Constituency 2, Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo state , Mr Olagoke Ajimuda and Mr Omosule Taid , respectively, Mrs Tomowewo was expelled from the ruling party for engaging in anti party activities in a bid to jeopardize the chances of the party during the governorship election.
The APC with Governor Rotimi Akeredolu went on to win the Ondo election defeating Barrister Eyitayo Jegede of tgr Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and Agboola Ajayi of the Zenith Labour Party, ZLP in the process.
