Ondo Judiciary Reacts To Man Who Cried Out For Justice After Spending Three Years In Prison

One Mr. Olupelumi Fagboyegun, who said he returned from abroad has cried out to president Muhammadu Buhari to rescue him from the Ondo State Judicial system following his three year remand in prison custody. 

Olupelumi Fagboyegun, a man in a viral video, who claimed to be a sibling to the Ondo State Chief Judge, Mrs Olarenwaju Akeredolu, said he was detained by the state’s Chief Judge. 

“The Honourable Chief justice of Nigeria, the Attorney General of the Federation, I am calling on you to come and rescue me from the Ondo State judiciary which is being run like a family affair. That if you don’t know anybody you cannot get justice.

“I have been living abroad for 30 years. I came on holiday to Nigeria to my father’s house, because I share the same father with the Chief Justice of Ondo State, I was arrested in my father’s place. I was locked up, I was charged with forceful entry to my father’s house.

“Even if I was convicted of this crime, it only carries a one-year jail penalty. But I have been on remand, open remand for the past three years. This case has been a going on for the past three years because the Chief Justice of Ondo state is using her power and influence and the Judicial system has been unable to give justice.

“They have changed judges five times, they have re-arraigned me five times and they have changed their charges five times. And up till today, the 15th February, that I am talking to you, this case is still pending. Please come and rescue me, come and rescue me, the Ondo State Government cannot help me because the government is a family business. Help me, I am begging you.

“President Muhammadu Buhari help me from the hand of this woman. I want to go back to my family, I want to go back to my children. I am a single parent, this woman has been keeping me here for the past three years for coming to my father’s house, please help me, I am begging you people, I want to go back to my family,” he said. 

But reacting to the allegations which went viral, Mrs Bolatito Ajibade. Chief Registrar. High Court of Justice, Akure. in a statement released to Vanguard, disclosed that. Olupelumi was intent on tarnishing the image of the Judiciary and denting the well-earned integrity of the Ondo State Judiciary.
She said there was never a time that Olupelumi Fagboyegun was kept in prison custody on the order of any Magistrate or any Hon. Judge of Ondo State.

She said, “It has come to the notice of the Ondo State Judiciary that someone who called himself Mr Olupelumi Fagboyegun made several allegations against the Honorable Chief Judge and third arm of government in Ondo State particularly as it relates to judicial dispensation and administration of justice.
