Following the public assault on a renowned media guru, Don Pedro Obaseki, the leader of the group that perpetuated the dastardly act, Osazee Adun, popularly known as Kapue Pue, has led other members to publicly apologise to Dr Pedro Obaseki at his residence on Upper Mission Extension, Benin City, on Tuesday, 14th April 2026.
Joy Obarisiagbon, who witnessed the apology session, reports that Kapue and his group were accompanied by some of his family members and associates.
On the 28th of December 2025, the global world was shocked with amazement as the popular Dr Pedro Obaseki was publicly assaulted, dehumanised, and disgraced through the streets of Benin City.
The incident was linked to a statement he made during an event in the United Kingdom.

The matter has since lingered on, prompting an apology from the perpetrators, led by Osazee Adun, popularly known as Kapue Pue.
To show his readiness and remorseful level, Kapuepue arrived at the home of Dr Pedro with beating drums of praise and singing apology songs as a gesture to show how sorry he really is
“You are father, please forget me you are not an enemy of the palace I was moved to do what I did by the enemy please forgive us you are truly a benin son we beg you”
Dr Pedro Obaseki, while receiving the group, indicated that he had accepted the apology, but he would consult his legal team and family members before deciding on the next steps, as the matter has been in court, noting that a press statement would be issued soon.
“I have heard you people thought we are all human and considering those behind the begging I forgive you guys but I must tell you that what you guys did to me was very humiliating”
