A devastating rainstorm has swept through Osemwende Street in Benin City, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake.
The storm affected torn-off roofs and walls collapsed, leaving occupants homeless.
The heavy rain storm tore off the roofs of over 13 houses at Osemwende Street with with many of the house’s walls collapsing.
According to affected residents in the area, the storm lasted for several hours, with strong winds and heavy rainfall, causing widespread damage to homes and businesses, leaving some homeless and injuring others.
A native of the area and victim Sunday ikponwonsa says as it is now he is homeless and has relocated the family to their family house.
Other Affected residents of the heavy rainstorm were seen packing the remains of their damaged properties, as they called on the Edo State government to help them rebuild their lives.
They said the devastating nature of the rain has automatically turned most of them who are landlords to homeless people.
