Osinbajo Asks Senate Approval of $1bn External Loan

Nigerian Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo on Tuesday seeked the Senate’s approval to take an external loan of $1.5bn

The request form part of the 2016-2018 External Borrowing Plan of the Federal Government.

The loan is said to be meant for projects execution in 10 states.

The Senate President, Bukola Saraki revealed this on the floor of the House after reading the letter received from Osinbajo on Tuesday, June 6.

According to a tweet by the House handle, it says “Bukola Saraki reads a letter from Ag. President. Prof. Osinbajo seeking Senate approval of external borrowing plan (2016-2018) as approved by FEC”
