Pandora Papers Exposes 10 Nigerian Politicians

Reading Time: 1 minute

10 Nigerian politicians have been implicated in the Pandora Papers. Top political leaders and businessmen across the world have relied on a Panama law firm to hide properties and wealth.

Out of the right African countries featured in the document, Nigeria was ably represented in the global scandal.

A total of 336 politicians are listed in the document, according to the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists, which published the shocking papers on Sunday.

The ‘Pandora Papers’ is perhaps one of the biggest ever leaks in recent decades revolving around business owners and political leaders.

All together, journalists analysed some 11.9 million documents from financial services companies around the world.

Five Côte d’Ivoire politicians were helped by foreign agents to stash money suspected to be looted away from public view, while three Ghanaian politicians were also implicated.

From Russia, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Angola, UAE, Kenya, Congo Brazzaville, Angola, Zimbabwe, Chad, South Africa, etc, the list is shocking and heart-rendering, considering how much suffering exists especially in low income countries.
