Pastor Peter Taiwo of the Christ Apostolic Bible Church, Alaja Oke, Saje, Abeokuta, has been arrested by men from the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly defiling a 16-year-old chorister in his church.
His wife, Elizabeth Taiwo, was also detained for allegedly conspiring with him by closing the door on the victim during the crime.
DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the state Police Public Relations Officer, said in a statement on Sunday that the pastor and his wife were detained on Friday after the victim filed a complaint at the Adatan divisional police headquarters.
He went on to say that the choir member informed the cops that the pastor’s wife had told her to meet her husband in their room for an errand.
The woman claimed the pastor’s wife shut the door from outside shortly after she entered the room, after which the pastor overpowered her and forced sex with her, according to Oyeyemi.
“She explained further that the pastor’s wife came in later after her husband had pleased himself and met her crying,” the PPRO added. She told her that she was now a woman and that she should stop sobbing. She then threatened her that if she told anyone, she would die.
“When the DPO, Adatan division, SP Salaudeen Abiodun, received the complaint, he immediately dispatched his investigators to the spot, where the rogue pastor and his wife were caught.
“On interrogation, the couple confessed to the crime but blamed the devil for it. They also pleaded for forgiveness from the victim.
“The victim has been taken to hospital by the police for medical treatment.”©Standard Gazette, 2021.
