Police and Vigilantes Rescue Kidnapped Victims In Edo

  • Kill one suspect, arrest three others

EDO STATE – Seven kidnapped victims have been rescued by men of the Edo state police command in collaboration with the vigilantes at Urhokosa village along Benin-Ehor road in Uhumwuode local government area of Edo state.

Four of the suspects alleged to have kidnapped all the seven persons were arrested at the den where the kidnapped victims were kept for ransom.

Standard Gazette crime correspondent Festus Alenkhe who have been following up the story gathered that a joint team of policemen and the vigilantes who have been patrolling the road got a report of an abandoned Toyota Sienna car at Urhokosa village junction.

The security team then went to check the sienna car and discovered that all the occupants of the car have been kidnapped and taken into the bush.

The team then went into the Bush for combing.

They, however, swooped on the kidnappers’ hideout where all the seven abducted victims were rescued unhurt but not without casualties on the side of the hoodlums.

One of the suspects was shot dead on the spot while three others were arrested on the spot.

Men of the Anti kidnapping Squad and that of Ehor Police Divison are still combing the Bush in search of more casualties on the side of the suspected kidnappers.

The police are appealing to medical officials to watch out for anyone with fresh gunshot injuries to commence treatment but secretly call on the police to visit the hospital for questioning.
