Police arrest three suspected Manphite cultists during group anniversary

The Edo state police Command Intelligence Rapid Response Squad has apprehended three alleged secret cult members in Benin City as part of their ongoing operation against such individuals.

The police were informed that a group of individuals who belong to the Manphite confraternity, known as cultists, had organized a meeting in a secret location in Benin City.

It was reported that their purpose was to launch an assault on their perceived competitors within the secret cult community and recruit innocent individuals to mark their anniversary.

After gathering the necessary information, the police operatives immediately embarked on technical intelligence to thwart the plans of the cult members.

At precisely 2:30 pm on May 12, 2023, the operatives successfully apprehended three of the cult members in Okabere community, situated in Upper Sakponba Road within Benin City.

The suspects are identified as Bright Amadin, 34, Brown Amadin, 29, and Stanley Omoregie, 27.

They were found in possession of a Pump Action gun, three live cartridges, and clothing bearing manphite insignia.

According to the Edo State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, “Concerted effort is ongoing in arresting members of the cult group now at large. We can state clearly that the three suspects will be processed to court soon”.
