Police Beef Up Security In Edo As Christians Celebrate Easter; Deploy 3,372

Edo state police command has tightened security ahead of the Easter celebration in the state.

Consequently, the command has deployed 3,372 POLICE personnel to all nooks and crannies of Edo state.

Edo State Police Public Relations officer SP Bello Kontongs said the commissioner of Police, Philip Ogbadu directed that the police operatives be deployed from the conventional police, police mobile force, Explosive Ordinance Disposal, State Intelligence Bureau and State Traffic Division.

SP kontongs said that security personnel from other agencies would join the police to ensure the protection of lives and property during the Easter celebration.

He disclosed that adequate security would be provided to all the churches and other recreational centres across Edo state.

The Police Public Relations Officer said the move is to forestall criminal elements like armed robbery, kidnapping and other heinous crimes.

SP Kontongs said it is the police’s constitutional responsibility in Edo state to ensure a hitch-free Easter celebration in the state.
