A Nigerian police officer has been abducted in Edo State.
Ibrahim Aliyu Ishaq, the Division police officer in charge of Fugar Division in Edo State, was abducted on Friday, 26 November 2021.
Standard Gazette learned that the gunmen accosted him along Ise River on Auchi-Ekperi Agenebode road while in his private vehicle.
The gunmen shot sporadically into the air forcing the vehicle to stop before the senior Police officer was abducted.
The gunmen dragged their victims into the forest.
Twenty four hours after the incident, the suspected kidnappers have demanded N50 million as ransom.
Standard Gazette gathered that the Edo State police commissioner, CP Philip Ogbadu, had ordered his men to ensure the officer was rescued unhurt and returned to his family.
