The Police in EDO state has recovered a Lexus jeep snatched in a kidnap scene in Ikpoba Hill, BENIN city, Edo state by yet to be identified GUNMEN.
The Police received a complaint from one Mrs Mercy Imoisili that her son, Theophilus Elohor, was driving her Lexus 330 Jeep, black, with Reg. No. RBC 796 HN when four unidentified armed men attacked him and kidnapped him along with the vehicle to an unknown destination.
After much efforts from the Police operatives, the kidnappers released their victim but left with the Lexus Jeep.
In the course of the investigation, police learned that the vehicle was on its way to Abuja, the nation’s capital and was subsequently intercepted at a police checking point in Kwali area of the Federal Capital Territory.
Standard Gazette gathered that the suspects immediately jumped out of the vehicle and ran into the bush.
The Police have doubled down on arresting the fleeing kidnapped suspects.
The Commissioner of Police Edo State, CP Phillip Aliyu Ogbadu, has reiterated his commitment to rid EDO State of criminal activities.
According to the Edo police boss, “with good and timely information from the good people of Edo State, crime will reduce. I assure the people of the state of adequate security”.
