Following the recent tragic event three months ago at Ohoro Forest, in which thirteen police officers were gruesomely murdered, the FID-IRT has recovered ten rifles from the hoodlums in the Ohoro Forest.
This was contained in a statement made available to journalists through SP Edafe Bright, issued by the force’s public relations officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, of Force Headquarters, Abuja.
The statement further stated that the gallant operatives of the FID-IRT engaged the criminals in a gun battle, leading to the neutralisation of some of the suspects.
The police said it reclaimed ten of the stolen weapons and recovered some arms used by the hoodlums.
The PPRO said the police also addressed the kidnapping crisis that plagued the Lagos Ibadan Expressway with the arrest of six members of the notorious kidnapping gang terrorising the area.
ACP Oluwuyiwa Afejobi added the Inspector General of Police, Olukayode Egbetokun, has assured the public the public that the police will continue to employ all the necessary measures to combat crime activities across the country, adding the safety and security of Nigerian citizens remain the top priority.
