The fracas almost degenerated but for the timely intervention of the police and DSS on the ground.

They started shortly before proceedings at the Tribunal On Monday, the APC youths including Kelly Okungbowa, and the APC youth leader,  Tony Kabaka Adun and others objected to the presence of security details of Doctor Asue Ighodalo at the court premises.

They insisted that Private security details are not supposed to come to court and made frantic efforts to Walk them out of the Tribunal premises a situation that resulted in a serious shouting match.

The face-off almost degenerated into a serious fight but for the quick police intervention who prevented the APC youth from venting their anger on the security men attached to Doctor Asue Ighodalo.

However, onlookers in court were confused as to how the APC youths could figure out Doctor Asue Ighodalo’s Security details even when the PDP candidate was not present at the Tribunal On Monday morning.

Some Journalists covering the incident were not spared as some security men attempted to prevent them from carrying out their jobs.

Meanwhile, the hearing on the petition filed by PDP governorship Candidate Doctor Asue Ighodalo was adjourned to Tuesday at the Edo State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal.

When the matter of the petitioners, Doctor Asue Ighodalo and PDP came up for hearing Counsel to the 3rd Respondent, APC Emmanuel C Ukala, and the 1st respondent INEC, Kanu Agabi and the second Respondent,  Senator Monday Okpebholo,  Onyeme Ikpeazu objected to the hearing of the petition and asked the tribunal to step the matter down for hearing as they argued that they only got the witnesses schedule just minutes before the day’s proceedings from the petitioner and asked that the schedule of witnesses be filed properly.

Responding to the objection raised by the counsel to the Respondents, the Counsel to the petitioner,  Adetunji Oyeyipo, SAN; told the tribunal that the petitioner did not deliberately file their witness schedule late but was due to a situation beyond their control.

Adetunji Oyeyipo, SAN said the filing of witnesses schedule was hampered due to threats by the 3rd respondent,  APC, State  Chairman Jarrett Tenebe who in a recent Broadcast threatened to get the witnesses and other PDP Supporters arrested in the court premises.
