Ardo, who is from Wauru Jabbe in Adamawa State's Yola South Local Government Area, is accused of kidnapping herself and stealing N2 million from Mallam Adamu Ahmed of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

The 25-year-old woman was successful in her strategy to mislead her partner by feigning her own kidnapping with the help of Abdulaziz.

She was alleged to have spent the money on a home.

The suspect and Ahmed reportedly fell in love after meeting onFacebook, unknown to the man that he was dealing with a married woman.

All through their period of dating, the duo never had physical contact, but the relationship blossomed as they kept in touch online.

Adamu was alleged to have heard Ardo crying over the phone as she pleaded with him to pay the ransom during the negotiations for her release.

Adamu was claimed to have deposited the funds in the name of Amina Mohammed in a bank account.

Ardo, the suspect's acquaintance, had requested the account number in order to obtain payment from a friend, the suspect confessed.

Ardo's spouse had reportedly questioned her source of income before the boom burst, claiming that her relatives had sent the money.

She was then detained and charged with criminal conspiracy and kidnapping in violation of sections 60 and 248 of the Penal Code Law before Chief Magistrate Court I, Yola.
