Prime Minister is fined for breaking Covid-19 rules, Can this happen in Africa?

The test of a country’s greatness is the functioning of its institutions in such a way that equality is achieved in greater measure. Where leaders feel they can get away without consequences, such civilization remains crude and underdeveloped.

The Prime Minister of Norway, Erna Solberg received a hefty fine on Friday for breaking the country’s virus curbs by organising a family birthday dinner even though she ended up not attending, police authorities said.

The dinner, which marked her 60th birthday was organised in part by Solberg but had exceeded the number of guests allowed at private functions.

“Even if the law is equal for everyone, everyone is not equal,” Commissioner Ole Saeverud told a press conference. It will be a great delight to have such leaders in Africa, that is what is lacking at the moment especially in Nigeria. Leadership by example is a myth, hopefully Nigerian leaders can learn from Norway’s PM.
