Some deaf and dumb Persons in Edo State on Monday took to the streets to protest against the gruesome murder of a Deaf Man Efe Ogbeide.
Crime correspondent Wellington Akodeja reports the Protesters also registered their displeasure at the Edo State House of Assembly and other institutions demanding justice.
The protesters are angry demanding justice for deaf man Efe Ogbeide who was shot dead at his building site in Obazagbon Community.
The Deaf and Dumb Protesters were at the Edo State House of Assembly, Government House, Nigeria Union of Journalists Edo State Council and the state police headquarters in Benin City to demand Justice.
According to the spokespersons for deaf and dumb protesters who spoke via an interpreter Efe Ogbeide was a peace-loving young man with a wife and three children but regrettably was shot dead in Obazagbon Community where he was supervising a building project.
Addressing the protesters, the Assistant Commissioner of police operations Innocent Nkematara appealed to the protesters to remain calm as the police would ensure justice.
At the NUJ, Edo State Council, Chairman of Edo NUJ Festus Alenkhen said journalists will ensure that the information is adequately disseminated.
The situation was not different at Edo State Government House.
The SA on security to the state Governor Akhere Paul said he will brief the State Governor on the issue.
Engr. Efe Ogbeide who is a deaf and dumb Man was killed on the 28th of February 2025 while working on his building project at Obazagbon Community in Benin City.
