The Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare II, has called on the Federal Government to rehabilitate the Benin-Ekpoma-Auchi highway.
He made the call at Ekpoma, Edo State, during his post-coronation thank-you visit to the traditional rulers and people of Edo Central Senatoral District, saying the road’s deplorable state needed the attention of the Federal Government.

Oba Ewuare II expressed concern over the rate of grass-root underdevelopment, youth restiveness and poverty among the people, pointing out however his palace was planning palliative measures against poverty.
The monarch commended Governor Godwin Obaseki for inaugurating the task force on anti-community Development Association.
Earlier, the Onojie of Ekpoma Anthony Abureme commended the Benin Monarch for banning the association which he said became agent of disharmony in all the communities in the state.
