A former Minister of Aviation Femi Fani-Kayode has said that if Nigeria is not restructured, the Yoruba people would ask for Oduduwa Republic.
He made this known at a gathering of Yoruba leaders who converged at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamashingba, Ibadan in Oyo state.

The former Minister opined that Yoruba people accommodated their neighbours and such kind hearts had been used against the his people.
Fani-Kayode recalled what happened to Obafemi Awolowo, MKO Abiola and even the former President, Olusegun Obasanjo before he became the President.
He threatened that if Nigeria is not restructured, then it is time for Oduduwa Republic.
Fani-Kayode said “90 percent of the Yoruba people today are of the view that this country need to be restructured. That is their passionate views and it is held for a number of reasons.
“Unfortunately it appeared that those from a particular part of the country don’t knowledge and accept that. My fear is that if we do not take the restructuring seriously, it may be the end of this country as we know it.
“The call for self determination, separation, and to exercise to lead the federation if the people are not treated fairly is very strong and w are having to hold back those that believe in breaking the country up. We are talking to them to give Nigeria a chance and without restructuring, this country will break.
“I think far more peace, justice, equity, governance, and so much more, that is the way forward. Let us have a true federation. We call ourselves a federation, we are not; we are a unitary state it is unacceptable. If we don’t have restructure, i will advocate for the breaking of this country.
