The Clerk of the Senate, Jeremiah Nyegenye, has officially launched the Senate’s Sports event.
The one-day sporting event at the Nyayo National Stadium, Nairobi, brings together over 450 Staff from the Senate.
The employees participate in several sporting activities, among them Soccer, Volleyball, Netball, Tug of war, Swimming, Athletics, Table Tennis, Darts, and Badminton.
Speaking when he launched the event, Nyegenye appealed to participants to take the event positively and compete well.
He further appealed to Staff to continue keeping the excellent reputation of the Senate by maintaining a high standard of discipline even as they participate in the sporting event.
The Senate staff members participating in the sporting event have been divided into 4 teams: Purple, White, Red and Orange.
The competition will end on Friday evening with the best teams being feted.
The event that takes place annually offers Staff the opportunity to bond and keep physically fit.
