As Nigerians face hardship following the challenging economy, many have devised dubious ways of survival.
A case in point was a man named Luke, who was chased out of Abuja Central Mosque on Friday by the section of worshippers who had discovered him to be a crook.
Luke was reputed to be converting to Islam every Friday at Jumaat Prayers to attract donations and gifts from the people.
The Con- man has conducted this habit in almost all the mosques in Abuja and at the same time doing so on Sundays in major churches in the federal city where his conversions attract donations and gifts from well-wishers who think he was pursuing eternity, not knowing that the man was driven by hunger and mischief.
A popular public commentator and activist from Kaduna State, Senator Shehu Sani, who spoke on his official X handle, said,”
“A man was chased out of the mosque in Abuja today after being recognized as repeatedly converting to Islam and Christianity in many mosques and churches and receiving donations and gifts from worshippers.”
Another comment from @Sabul said, ” Such a fellow should be arrested and be taken to a mental hospital instead of sending him away to be constituting nuisance to the people.”
Many others condemned the acts and attributed the ills to hardship in the country, pushing people into the unthinkable.
