Eight children who were discovered dead in a parked car along Lagos’ Badagry Expressway, Olorunda LCDA axis, have been dedicated to Mother Nature.
The children, aged four to six years old, were said to have entered the parked Lexus SUV vehicle to play, locked themselves inside, and died due to suffocation.
According to reports, the vehicle is parked in front of the owner’s home.
The children’s bodies have been collected and put at the Badagry General Hospital’s mortuary for an autopsy to ascertain the cause of death, according to Adekunle Ajisebutu, a spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, who verified the event.
“While playing, the eight children were claimed to have locked themselves in an abandoned automobile.”
“Their bodies have been collected and deposited at the Badagry General Hospital morgue for autopsy in order to identify the exact cause of death,” according to the PPRO.
“Notwithstanding the report made to the Police, the Commissioner of Police, CP Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered a thorough and speedy investigation into the circumstances surrounding their death.
The CP also commiserates with the families of the victims.” he added.
Two parents, Ibrahim Jubril and Isiaka Alidu, whose children were among the deceased, said they had submitted to the will of God.©Standard Gazette, 2021.
