A controversial Nigerian preacher, Fr. Ejike Mbaka, says his life is no longer safe after he allegedly received an invitation from the country top security agency.
The self-acclaimed Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministry, Enugu, said Sunday that the Department of State Services, DSS, has sent another invitation.
It could be recalled that the preacher received a similar worrying invitation in June 2021.
"Anonymous brought a letter here inviting me to the DSS last year. Now, another anonymous has brought another letter from the DSS. Please, you must keep praying for Fr Mbaka," a local paper, Punch has quoted Fr Mbaka.
Mbaka has asked his followers to intensify prayers for him over his new invitation, noting that he had done nothing wrong to attract such an invitation.
The preacher also said God is using his ministry to "glorify his name"
He said, "If the Pope sees what is going on here, he will go to any length to protect it. Forget about what people are saying. Mbaka may not be the best, but God is using him to glorify his name.
"Look at the hundreds of thousands of people who are gathered here just to worship God in the Catholic Church. Anyone who is working against this kind of gathering must be a Satan incarnate. That person must be doing special work for the devil."
His invitation might not be unconnected to his recent utterances where he declared support for the Indigenous People of Biafra leader, Nnamdi Kanu.
In a video, Mbaka had urged his followers to light a candle and pray for Kanu, who is currently in DSS detention.
He defended his position that even Jesus also prayed for a thief on the cross of calvary at the point of death.©Standard Gazette, 2021.
