Three kidnappers abduct web designer in Benin, withdraws N4.9m from bank account

Three men who allegedly abducted a web engineer in Benin city have been arrested.
The suspects were arrested after the Edo State police command received a tip-off.
The suspects, Peter Njoku, Owosu Andy and Asogwe Pascal, attacked the web designer, Franklin Onoaghakpote around Okhoro road in Benin and forced him into the boot of his vehicle.
His kidnappers dragged him to an uncompleted building and later upgraded their den to a hotel room in the same vicinity.
SG gathered that the kidnappers seized Franklin’s ATM card and withdrew N4.9 cash via a POS shop.
It was gathered that the perpetrators seized his expensive belongings bringing to a total amount of over N20m.
Franklin who disclosed his ordeal to Standard Gazette said, “Those men gave me the beaten of my life. They almost killed me. Thank God I am alive.”
Through the help of Close Circuit Tv in the hotel, three suspects were then arrested.
Edo State Police Public Relations Officer SP Bello kontongs said, “The police got urgent information that a man has been abducted and the people are demanding ransom.
“The police were immediately mobilised to go to the area. I want to warn criminals to relocate from Edo state or face strong police resistance”.
