Uhuru mourns Ex-South African President Klerk

Kenya’s Head of State Uhuru Kenyatta has condoled with the South African residents following the death of their former president Frederik Willem de Klerk.

The deceased passed on Thursday at his Fresnaye home.

In his condolence message, President Kenyatta said Klerk played a key role in the country’s transition to democracy from apartheid, a feat that earned him a Nobel Peace Prize in 1993 alongside former President Nelson Mandela.

He served as South Africa's Head of State between 1989 and 1994.
