Ukraine list condition for Nigerians willing to go and fight against Russia
Nigerians who want to fight Russian forces in Ukraine must pay $1,000 for a ticket and a visa, according to the Ukrainian Embassy in Nigeria.
When scores of Nigerian men converged to the embassy’s Abuja grounds on Thursday to declare their willingness to join the Ukrainian side, the embassy stated as much.
In an interview with our journalist, Bohdan Soltys, the Second Secretary at the Ukrainian Embassy in Nigeria, stated that Nigerian volunteers would need $1,000.

Nigerians were not pleased with the announcement, claiming that the price was too exorbitant.
The $1,000 requirement is too high,” said Monday Adikwu, who spoke with The Punch and was dismissed from the Nigerian Army for leaving his duty post to visit his pregnant wife without permission.
“They said we should provide evidence of military experience, passports and $1,000 for tickets and others. When I asked what the salary is, the guy first said $7,000 and later changed it to $3,300 per month. I showed him my military and training certificates.”©Standard Gazette, 2021.
