Ungrateful Rescued Homeless man kills his God sent in Benin, Edo State

Edo police command had arrested a 27-year-old man following the death of his employer with whom he shared a house.

The suspect, Ogah Nwode who previously resided in Akure, Ondo State came to Benin City in March 2022 in search of greener pasture.

Standard Gazette gathered that hat Ogah was homeless and slept in Iyaro in Benin City, Edo State.

His homelessness changed when he found a good samarithan who took pity in him, employed him at water factory on a N20,000 monthly salary.

The ”God sent” employer also offered him an accommodation in his apartment. The duo lived together for three weeks.

However, Ogah had used this time to assess his good boss and perfected plan to enrich himself, not without killing a man who took him off the street.

Standard Gazette gathered that pm 4 April 2022, Ogah sneaked up on his employer and struck him severally on his head with a stone.

The employee and housemate snatched his Lexus Jeep and contacted car parts dealer in Uwelu Spare parts market.

According to SG findings, the plan was to dismantle the vehicle and sell them in parts to avoid it being traced back to him.

The Spare Parts Dealer suspected his dubiousness and immediately alerted the police.

Ogah, during an interview with law officers claimed he was ”moved by a bad spirit to kill the person” that was helping him.

He added, ”He gave me a job, house, and he was the one feeding me too

“Something just told me to kill him and i entered the kitchen, looked for a knife but i didn't find any but i found a pestle which i used to hit his head when he was watching television in the living room.

“It is really paining me that i killed him. May his soul rest in peace.”

Edo police Public Relations Officer, SP Bello Kontong assured that the suspect will be charged once investigation is concluded.

“The police got information that businessman had been killed and we visited the scene.

“From there we started the investigation and arrested the suspect.

SP Konrong confirmed that the Lexus had been recovered.
Ogah remains in police custody.
