Abuja, 13th March 2023: The United Patriots Assembly of Nigeria (UPAN) has commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for their managerial acumen during the Presidential and National Assembly elections held on 25th February 2023. The group, in a post-presidential election assessment address, said that the elections were substantially free, fair, and credible, and commended INEC for their unbiased umpire role in the electoral process.

According to Amb. Aiyamenkhue Edokpolo, the National Facilitator of UPAN, "From our lucid evaluation of the commission's proactive measures before, during and after the elections, it is most reasonable for the presidential candidates to commend the commission for reinforcing its corporate dignity as an unbiased umpire; as well as to congratulate the winner Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu in the globally established principle of sportsmanship."

The group also congratulated President-elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his victory, stating that he is a pro-democracy Generalissimo and a pan-Nigerian who has the leadership wizardry to reposition Nigeria to her pride of place. The UPAN had earlier endorsed Tinubu's candidacy before and after the All Progressive Congress (APC) primaries, leaving no one in doubt of his acceptability as a candidate.

The group, however, noted that the 2023 Presidential and National Assembly elections were held under the most difficult economic policy circumstance of Nigeria's contemporary history. They attributed this to the bizarre cash crunch faced by the nation's electoral stakeholders, which was a fallout of the reckless cashless economic template of the Central Bank of Nigeria.

Hon. Usman Dauda, the Secretary-General of UPAN, said that "the policy implementation turned out to be a project management disaster by any modicum of intellect." To salvage the pieces of the nation's monetary catastrophe, the Progressive Governors Forum of the ruling APC and some patriotic Governors of the People's Democratic Party instituted a suit against the Federal Government on the excruciating survival ratio of the masses and the middle class.

UPAN commended the Governors for their consistent patriotic interventions and officially endorsed Governors Sanwu-Olu of Lagos State of the APC and Governor Abiodun Makinde of the People's Democratic Party, and other altruistically progressive Governors who are seeking a second-term reelection come March 18th, 2023, and a fulfilling tenure in office.

"Their track records of service speak volumes of the natural doctrine of one good turn deserves another," Edokpolo said. "God bless Nigeria."
