University of Ibadan Affirms Obaseki Graduated From UI

The University of Ibadan has confirmed that Governor Okowa Obaseki Graduated from the institution in 1979.

This was disclosed in a statement on Wednesday by the Registrar of the University, Mrs Olubunmi O. Faluyi,  confirming that the governor graduated with second class lower division in Classics. 

“Mr Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki, the Governor of Edo State graduated from the University of Ibadan where he studied Classics.

“Mr Obaseki gained admission to the University in 1976 and graduated in 1979 with aSecond Class Honours, Lower Division. Records of his Admission and Graduation are intact in the archives of the University.” 

Members of the split camp have launched a drastic online query over Obaseki’s educational status, while some called for his dismissal from the governorship election.

Obaseki had said during his appearance on Channels TV that whoever wished to know about his education should contact the University of Ibadan, adding that those querying his educational qualifications are probably forgers themselves.
