As an update to the story NAIJA CENTER reported some days ago concerning the commercial bus driver who abandoned his wife and five children over hardship from the lockdown in Lagos, it has now emerged that his teenage daughter (name withheld) is pregnant.
The man left his family over three weeks ago following a constant battle with his wife over his inability to provide basic things for his household due to the lockdown.
He subsequently abandoned his family and as at the time of filing this report, he is yet to return.

But in a new twist, NAIJA CENTER can authoritatively report that his teenage daughter and first child of the man has gotten pregnant.
A source within the family’s neighbourhood of Arikawe street, Off Afromedia, Ajamgbadi, Lagos confirmed to NAIJA CENTER that the young girl who is between the age of 17-19 years is pregnant. But can not be independently verified if she got pregnant during the COVID-19 lockdown or she was already pregnant before the restriction of movements that necessitated his father leaving them behind.
The source noted that she told her mother of her current state, but however was unable to confirm the man responsible for the pregnancy.
“Yes. She is pregnant. She told her mummy that and she didn’t even deny it when another neighbour confronted her with it after she was exhibiting several signs of pregnancy. Though I wouldn’t know how long the pregnant is, I think it’s between 1-2 months because her stomach is not big yet, “our source who demanded to speak on condition of anonymity said.
When NAIJA CENTER sort to know if she got pregnant as a result of hardship or due to her father’s absence, he continued ‘Before her daddy left them or even the lockdown, she has always been a street girl that is always seen with one boy or another. She comes back home very late from her usual outings.
“Though I also believed that the hardship might have contributed because with her daddy leaving, she started fending for herself sort of and nobody to control her anymore. It was like she was now on the loose. Her mummy could only shout. And that is all. But she still had fear for her father before he left,” the source added.
With the new announcement by President Muhammad Buhari during his last broadcast that effective from Monday Nay 4th that there would be a relaxation of the restriction of movements, it remains to be seen if their father who absconded would return back to his family.
