UROMI KILLINGS: Gov.Okpebholo, Kano Dep. Gov. Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo Visits  Onojie of Uromi, Preaches Peace And Unity

A  joint delegation of the executive council of Edo and Kano States, led by Governor Monday Okpebholo and Deputy Governor of Kano  Aminu Gwarzo, has visited the palace of the Onojie of Uromi HRH, Anselm Aidejoe the second, the Ojuromi of Uromi, to engender a peaceful resolution of the incident that led to recent killings in Uromi.

The delegation visit was to consolidate the long-standing relationship between both states.
    
Towards addressing the remote and immediate causes of the killings in Uromi,  the visit by the Edo and  Kano State delegations to the palace of the Ojuromi of Uromi, HRH  Anselm Aidenojie the second aims to consolidate the peace-building efforts initiated by both governments.

It also strengthens the existing relationship between the Edo and Kano states.

Governor Okpebholo commended President Bola Tinubu for establishing a Commission of Inquiry to investigate the incident to ensure peace and unity.
      
Deputy Governor of Kano State, Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo appealed for calm, urging the Hausa community and Uromi indigene to resume normal commercial and other activities.
     
The Onojie of Uromi HRH Anselm Aidenojie the second commended  Gov. Okpebholo for his swift intervention in restoring calm and commended Kano State’s support in the peace-building process.
     
The Kano Deputy Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo earlier met with the Arewa Community in Uromi.
