The “business as usual” by the Nigerian police force turned disgrace in Benin City, Edo State on Wednesday after the youths, businessmen and passerby came together to boo policemen off the area.
Problem started when a Turkey based Nigerian Ohis Odiagah was stopped by the armed policemen on his way home, near S and T barrack in Isihor, opposite Megon Beer Parlour.
Ohis who refused to step out of his vehicle was heard calling the policemen thieves.
Meanwhile the situation drew attention of several eye witnesses who defended the car owner and refused to let them take him away.
Recently, Edo youths had complained of several exploitation by the police under the leadership of Commissioner Haliru Gwandu, who at every means had defended his men.
An eyewitness who spoke with NAIJA CENTER NEWS said the police stopped Ohis because he was driving Vanze Toyata car and were expecting to get their share of whatever money he has.
They received the unexpected as the people, including the S and T soldiers in the area cooperated to chase them out.
The video made available to our correspondent showed a huge traffic jam caused by the disagreement which lasted for over 40mins.
