MultiChoice Nigeria has announced that it will be increasing the prices of its DStv and GOtv packages. The new rates will take effect from May 1, 2023.
In a text message sent to customers, MultiChoice Nigeria confirmed that the new prices will apply to both its DStv and GOtv packages.

A country-by-country price analysis reveals that Nigerian DStv premium subscribers will pay the equivalent of $33.11, using the unofficial rate of N740 to a dollar. Meanwhile, customers in South Africa will pay 879 Rands, which is equivalent to $48.48, at an exchange rate of 18.1 Rands to the dollar.
Furthermore, Nigerian Compact+ subscribers will be required to pay a tariff of N16,600 ($22.43) while South African subscribers will pay 579 Rands ($31.94). Compact bouquet customers in Nigeria will pay the equivalent of $14.19 (N10,500).
In Kenya, subscribers on the three bouquets will pay KES 9,500 ($70.06), KES 5,900 ($43.51), and KES 3,300 ($24.34) respectively.
Interestingly, prices for the three subscription packages analyzed are lower in Nigeria compared to South Africa and Kenya.
This announcement by MultiChoice Nigeria comes two weeks after its competitor, StartTimes, also announced an increase in its subscription prices.
