The management and Board of First City Monument Bank, (FCMB) has dismissed reports that Ms. Yemisi Edun was appointed to replace embattled Managing Director, Adam Nuhu.
Several reports both in conventional and social media were circulated yesterday that Ms Eddun had been appointed as managing director of the bank.
Recall that Adam Nuhu has been embroiled in a paternity scandal, where he was alleged to have fathered two kids with a former staff of FCMB, Moyo Thomas, an allegation which eventually led to the death of her estranged husband, Tunde Thomas.
But FCMB in a clarification on Thursday through a statement by its General Counsel, Olufumilayo Adebisi, said that Ms. Yemisi Edun is only in acting capacity following the voluntary leave of absence by Adam Nuhu.
“In line with normal corporate practice, Ms. Yemisi Edun is acting as the managing Director of FCMB in the interim period, while Mr. Adam Nuhu is on leave. She has not been appointed substantive Managing Director,” the bank stated.
