Youths in Edo State have planned a protest scheduled to take place tomorrow, 28th February against the Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP) in the state.

The youths accused the DPP of attempting to free a convicted criminal, Amadin Idahosa who murdered a 400L student of University of Benin, Ibrahim Momodu on the order of CSP Carol Onyeka Afegbai.
CSP Afegbai escaped punishment and was transferred to another state, a decision that led to several reactions by the family members of the deceased.
The protesters are to convene at Kings Square by 7.30 before matching to the office of the DPP.
According to the convener, Maxi Kola, “Sequel to the lackadaisical, nonchalant and corrupt act of the Directorate Of Public Prosecution (DPP) Edo State who have corruptly reduced itself to the Directorate of Criminal Protection (DCP) in trying to set free a convicted criminal, Amadin Idahosa who extra judicially murdered Ibrahim Momodu on the order of the first daughter of Jezebel, CSP Carol Onyeka Afegbai, the former DPO of Ogida Police Station, the youth held a strategic and marathon meeting where it was unanimously resolved that there is an urgent need to protest against DPP for corrupt practices and for the immediate removal of the Director.”
A High Court in Benin convicted and sentenced CPL Idahosa to life imprisonment for the unlawful and extra judicial killing of Momodu.
It could be recalled that Late Ibrahim was shot near midnight on the 27th of May, 2013; buried hurriedly without informing his family and the next day, the policemen led by CSP Afegbai claimed he was a criminal who had a cut to size barrel.
