Various candidates’ credential were made available to journalists on Thursday, according to Punch newspaper report, however, Buhari failed to attached the necessary supporting documents, insisting, just like in 2015, that they were still in the custody of the Nigeria military.

Instead, he submitted an affidavit which reads “I am the above named person and the deponent of this affidavit herein. All my academic qualification documents as filled in my Presidential form, APC/001/2015 are currently with the Secretary of the Military Board as of the time of this affidavit.”

But the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Alhaji Atiku Abubakar submitted all relevant documents, which shows Diploma in law, obtained from Ahmadu Bello University in 1969, as his highest qualification.

Among the documents he submitted was his tax returns which indicated that he had, from 2015 to 2017, paid N10.8m in tax, while declaring his income within the same period as N60.2m.

According to the report, over 70 out of 91 political parties have presented presidential candidate to participate in the 2019 Presidential elections.

INEC revealed that over 70 names had been posted as of Thursday night.

The Commission has fixed October 25 (yesterday) for the publication of candidates of political parties across the country.

Some of the candidates include: President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress,  former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, Obadiah Mailafia of the African Democratic Congress,  and  former Governor Donald Duke of the Social Democratic Party.
