2023 Election: Nollywood actor Zack Orji declares support for Bola Tinubu
Lagos State - A famous Nigerian actor, Zack Orji, has called for total support for the leader of the All Progressives Congress, Ahmed Bola Tinubu.
In a time when many Nigerians are criticizing the former two-time Lagos state governor concerning his age, support from the Vice President of the Ambassador of Voice for Change, Zack Orji, is a booster.
In a video shared on Twitter on Saturday by the Nigerian Minister of State, Labour & Employment Festus Keyamo, the Nollywood actor assured Nigerians that "he (Bola Tinubu)would turn the economy around for the better."
Zack Orji attributed his support for the APC presidential candidate to his "all-inclusive government" when he was the governor of Lagos State.
He said, "My support is both exponential and personal. I have lived in Lagos for over 40 years of my life. I have always known this man as a chief crusader for the democratic consolidation of Nigeria. I have always known him as a man who stands for equity, Justice, fair play and national cohesion.
"In his time as the governor of Lagos State, he ran an all-inclusive government drawing people from ethnic extractions into the executive councils as decision makers to run the affairs of the state."
Mr Orji added, "People who came from ethnic extractions were given an opportunity to be part of the decision-making of Lagos state, and I know with a high degree of certainty that on the national scale when he becomes the President of Nigeria, he would do likewise.
"This is what we need in this country. Though we differ in tribe and tongue, but in solidarity and brotherhood, we stand tall and proud. I know that when he becomes the President of this country, he will turn the economy around for the better."
He urged Nigerians to "Join me to support this man, to turn the fortunes of this country around for the better. Join me and support Bola Ahmed Asiwaju as the President of Nigeria."
What has Zack Orji said before?
Zack Orji's video has also attracted criticisms from Nigerians, many of whom are Peter Obi's fans.
Their attacks are not unconnected to another video released by zack Orji sometime ago where he was seen asking Nigeria to zone the presidency to South East "if we must have peace and national cohesion in Nigeria."
In the video, Mr Orji said, "In the interest of equity and natural Justice, the presidency should be zoned to the South East if we must have peace and national cohesion in Nigeria."©Standard Gazette, 2021.
