Angry governors on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday stormed the Presidential Villa to see the President Muhammadu Buhari to complain the way the Adams Oshiomhole-led National Working Committee caused rancour in the primaries held across the country.
It was learned that the governors, led by the Chairman of the Progressives Governor Forum, Rochas Okorocha accused Oshiomhole of injustice and omission of their loyalists from the list of the party’s senatorial aspirants in the governorship primaries.

The angry governors are the Nasarawa State Governor Tanko Al-Makura, Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, Ogun State Governor Ibikunle Amosun, Governor Abdulaziz Yari of Zamfara State, the Imo State governor Rochas Okorocha Oyo State Governor Abiola Ajimobi, The governor of Kebbi State Atiku Baguda and Simon Lalong of Plateau State.
The Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai and his counterpart Akeredolu had on Wednesday held a closed=door meeting with Buhari over a similar problem.
All the governors have one thing in common, they all kicked against the conduct of the governorship primaries in their states because Oshiomhole removed their loyalists from the list.
“The focus of the meeting was the problem associated with the primaries, particularly the poor handling of the shadow elections by the NWC,” Punch Newspaper quoted a chieftain of the party, who spoke on condition of anonymity.
Okorocha reportedly briefs the State House correspondent after the 2 hours meeting with Buhari. The governor urged the party to do the right thing to allow everybody to participate in the primaries.
He said, “We came to review the crises that characterised our primaries. We are looking for a way out in this regard; we are going to find a solution.
Our party believes in justice, equity and fairness.
“We are saying that let the right thing be done and let everyone contest the elections.”
