The faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) expecting to receive many members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today have changed rally venue.

A former governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in 2016 Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu is being received today by the leadership of the ruling party.
The much talked about Mega rally was supposed to hold in Garrick, in Benin City, but few hours to the event, the party announced a change of venue.
This is connected to the sudden withdrawal of security by the Inspector General of Police Mohammed Adamu.
There has been heightened tension over the fear of disruption by the Edo State government since it has claimed it is unaware of the planned rally.
A former federal lawmaker, Hon. Samson Osagie told NAIJA CENTER on Friday morning that the venue was changed due to the “conflicting signal of the police.”
Osagie said “As at this morning Venue was moved out to curtail the tension in the State and the conflicting signals from the police”
The Edo state publicity secretary said, “The venue has changed to Ugbor, Amagba road.”
There is the apprehension of what the rally might cause as protesters took to the street to express their disapproval of the rally.
The protesters torched some vehicles and burnt tyres along airport road in Benin City.
Meanwhile, upon the National Chairman’s arrival to Benin city, there was news of sporadic gunshots, perhaps as a sign of respect.
