A Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Edo State, Honorable Mathew Iduoriyekemwen has dumped its party.

Iduoriyekemwen said the decision was necessary to further his political career which he believed was a better choice for himself, his fans and families.
This is a final notification that I, Hon. Mathew Aigbuhuenze Iduoriyekemwen is resigning as a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) effective from today.
I want to thank you and other members of the ward for the opportunities i had to develop my politics in the course of being a member of the party.
This decision has not been easy, but i have decided that it will be in the best interest for my political career, business and family. Please duly extend my goodwill to other members of the party.” He said.
It could be recalled that Iduoriyekemwen belonged to Senator Ali Modu Sheriff faction of the PDP before it was finally put to rest by the Supreme court.
In 2016, the PDP, after a closed door meeting, suspended the PDP aspirant in the 2016 governorship election for his alliance with Sheriff.
Meanwhile, the Edo State chapter of the PDP expressed sadness over his decision to leave the party after developing his political career.
In a statement signed by the State publicity secretary, Mr. Chris Nehikhare, the PDP wished he had stayed and faced the disciplinary committee set up to look into his suspension.
It is tragic that a politician that was built, nurtured and developed by PDP like Hon Matthew Iduoriyekemwen has decided to resign his membership of our party.
Even though he is currently under suspension from our party for anti party activities, we believe he should have faced the disciplinary committee set up so that he could explain and exonerate himself. Unfortunately, he has taken the easy way out. Nehikhare said.
Our party can only come out stronger and more cohesive as we move forward with loyal, trusted and committed men and women.
