The fear of the changes in the fight within the People Democratic Party (PDP) and the decision made by the New PDP to join All Progressives Congress (APC) must have motivated an emergency meeting of the caucus by the House of representative leader, Aminu Tambuwal.

The meeting is for members on the platform of PDP in the house of representative led by Tambuwal.

The meeting is said to be held today in room 231, House of Representative wing of the National Assembly, Abuja. Aminu Tambuwal gave the announcement to the member of PDP in the house yesterday.

According to him  “there will be a PDP caucus meeting tomorrow. Venue is room 2.31, new building.”

Though the agenda of the meeting was not made public, it is apparently believed not to be unconnected with the rumpus in the PDP occasioned by the defection of Governors Chibuike Amaechi of Rivers, Rabiu Kwankwaso of Kano State, Abdulfatai Ahmed of Kwara State and Murtala Nyako of Adamawa State to APC.

The movement is now signaling a dangerous alteration of the House Leadership. Fears abound that members of the House who hail from the respective states and already members of the prohibited new People Democratic Party, nPDP, would switch sides with their governors in the APC.

The implication of this is that the number of the PDP members which necessitated its hold on power via the House leadership will dwindle, consequently stripping Tambuwal of his office while paving way for an APC leadership.
