The Senate President Bukola Saraki has called Nigerians to condemn the invasion of the National Assembly by the officials of the Department of Security Service (DSS).
The DSS laid siege at the National Assembly on Tuesday denying its members access to the Assembly complex.

The officers claimed the instruction was from their boss, Mallam Lawal Daura who has now been fired by the Vice President of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo.
In a statement posted on his Fanpage hours after the siege, Saraki said “The heavy presence of armed security men who unnecessarily militarized the National Assembly and harassed legislators and the workers in the complex cannot be justified in a democracy.
“We urge Nigerians and the international community to condemn this illegal invasion of the National Assembly complex and the attempt to asphyxiate the legislature as undemocratic, uncivilized and irresponsible.”
The action of the DSS has attracted condemnation from Nigerians home and abroad.
The National Chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomhole has denied involvement in the failed coup, while the Vice President condmened the attempt to undermine democracy in the nation.
