EDHA Gives Governor Okpebholo Go Ahead To Appoint Twenty Special Advisers

Edo state House of Assembly on Tuesday approved a request by  Edo state Governor Monday Okpebholo to appoint twenty Special Advisers for the smooth running of his administration.

The request was contained in a letter dated 18th November, signed by the secretary to the state government, Barr Musa Ikhilor, and sent to the assembly.

In a motion, Majority Leader charity Aiguobarueghian disclosed that section 196 sub-section 2 of the 1999 constitution, as amended, Empowers the governor to appoint special advisers.

In a voice vote, the House approved the request.

Similarly, the House received a request from  Governor Monday Okpebholo for the screening and confirmation of Engr Emmanuel Okoebor as commissioner for finance of Edo state.

The speaker, Blessing Agbebaku, refers the letter to the House Committee on Rules and Business.
