The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP governorship candidate in 2016, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu has emerged as the concensus governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC faction loyal to Adams Oshiomhole.
Ize-Iyamu in November 2019, dumped the PDP and joined the APC.
The pastor was reportedly picked as consensus candidate after a meeting with other aspirants and some party chieftains in Abuja on Tuesday night.

Ize-Iyamu is currently at the national secretariat of the APC to pick his expression of interest and nomination form for the governorship primary election.
Alongside Ize-Iyamu, Engr. Chris Ogiemonyi, Dr. Pius Odubu, Gen. Charles Airhiavbare and Solomon Edebiri vied for the ticket.
