The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC has announced results in 16 out of the 18 Local Government Areas LGAs in Edo State, with the All Progressive Congress APC candidate Monday Okpebholo currently leading.
According to the results released so far, the APC and Peoples Democratic Party PDP candidates won their local government areas.
However, so far, The APC has secured 244,549 votes, while the ruling PDP trails behind with 195,954 votes, making it a 48,595-vote margin difference between the two parties.

The LGAs where results have been declared include Igueben, Owan West and East, Ovia North and South West, Uhunmwonde, Etsako West, East and Central, Egor, Orhionmwion, Akoko Edo, Esan West, South East, and Central.
The electoral commission has scheduled the final collation and declaration of results for Sunday evening, on which they are expected to announce the remaining two LGA of Oredo and Ikpoba Okha results.
