In a Thursday ruling, the Federal High Court in Abuja presided over by Justice Ekwo, declared that the PDP nomination processes were non-compliant with its constitution.

As a result, the court has set aside all processes leading to the Edo PDP governorship primaries held on February 22nd, 2024.

However, in a swift reaction, the leadership of the PDP in Edo confidently asserted that the judgement did not affect their candidate, Asue Ighodalo, in any way.

According to the state chairman, Tony Aziegbemi, in a statement, “We are aware that certain elements which are scared of the soaring popularity of our candidate Dr Asue Ighodalo are going about peddling rumours that the candidature of Dr Asue Ighodalo has been nullified.

Let it be on record that the candidature of Dr Asue Ighodalo as the flag bearer of the party for the 2024 elections remains intact and that the judgement of the Federal High Court in Abuja did not in any way affect the candidature of Dr Asue Ighodalo.

The PDP leadership urges their loyal supporters to remain calm and resolute, assuring them that there is no cause for alarm.
