Gov. Okpebholo Vows Justice for Oke-Oroma Land Dispute

The Governor Of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has assured victims of demolished structures at Oke-Oroma Community by the Godwin Obaseki-led administration that his administration will ensure justice.

Sen. Okpebholo also promised them that his administration is ready to revoke the existing C of O and return Oke-Oroma Land to the rightful owners if the findings of a panel of enquiry to be set up by his administration say so.

The meeting with community leaders and residents in Oke-Oroma followed campaign promises by Sen. Okpebholo to ensure justice for victims of demolished structures in the area.

Gov. Okpebholo, in company with his deputy, Dennis Idahosa, said his administration would set up a commission of inquiry to investigate the issues.

He said if the commission finds out that the land belongs to the people, the C of O earlier issued by the previous administration will be revoked, and the land returned to the rightful owners.

Okhaighele, Oke-Aroma, Prince Osaretin Emokpae and his counterpart from ObagieN’Evbuosa, Uyi Igiebor, thanked Gov. Okpebholo for fulfilling his campaign promises of returning to ensure peace.

During his electioneering campaign, the  Governor of Edo State promised victims of demolished property in Oke-Aroma to address the lingering land dispute with the immediate past administration led by Mr Godwin Obaseki.
