The Governor-elect of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, paid a courtesy visit to the Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma, on Wednesday following the conclusion of the governorship election.
Okpebholo was accompanied by his Deputy, Honourable Dennis Idahosa, the senator representing Edo North, Adams Oshiomhole, and the All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman in Edo State, Jarret Tenebe.
During the visit, Okpebholo informed Uzodinma that he had received blessings from the Oba of Benin, Ewuare II, and from God.

He also expressed gratitude to Uzodinma for his support during the election, acknowledging him as the next governor of Edo State following the governorship election held on 21 September.
Okpebholo said, “We are here with our leader, Adams Oshiomhole, in conjunction with my deputy and the state chairman of our party to say a big thank you to you.
“We contested the election, and by his grace, we have won the election. We are here to tell you that the next step is to develop Edo State.
“We have the blessings of God and the blessings of the Oba of Benin. Today we are here to say thank you and extend his greetings to you.”
Uzodinman assured Okpebholo that he would continue to support him in delivering good governance to the people.
He also welcomed Okpebholo to the All Progressives Governors Forum, of which he is the current chairman.
Additionally, he urged the incoming governor to justify the confidence placed in him by the voters.
On 27 September 2024, Okpebholo also visited the Governor of Lagos State, Jide Sanwo-Olu, where they “discussed collaborative efforts that could benefit both Edo and Lagos State.”
