How they ganged up against me - Dino Melaye laments

Dino Melaye, a former congressman, has blamed a gang-up for his loss in the Peoples Democratic Party's primary election to decide the Senate candidate for Kogi West.

Tajudeen Yusuf, a lawmaker from Kabba/Bunu Ijumu Federal Constituency, defeated Senator Dino Melaye to win the Peoples Democratic Party senatorial ticket in Kogi State.

Yusuf defeated Melaye, who was elected to represent Kogi West in the ninth Assembly, with 163 votes to Melaye's 99. They had both tied at 88 votes before the runoff.

Congratulating Yusuf, Melaye tweeted, “The primary has been fought and won. I congratulate Hon. T.J YUSUF and thank all those who voted on the first and second ballot for me.

The gang-up is unimaginable but l give God praise. God bless you all. SDM.”
